Took the missus out to Woolworths see what bargains we could get for the grandchildren's birthdays this year.

It had surprised me just before Christmas when Woolies announced that their turnover would be the worst ever and if they performed better than they ever had in the last weeks it would still worse than their lowest preictions.

I do most of our shopping online now, mainly because the council has made it such a hassle and so expensive to park so my eyes were opened by my visit to Woolies. No wonder they have had such a bad year. I have never known them so expensive. Whether they have put an extra percentage on their prices to pay for their modern refit I dont know, but they are no longer the Woolies I knew and loved and grew up with.

And talking of their newly fitted out stores - they look and feel crap!!

Came home with next to nowt. Did buy a Blockbusters DVD game - its crap - if you havent got it dont bother!! Will be passing mine on to someone I dont like as a birthday pressie.
