Despite having undergone 5 years or more of major sewage works in and around Torbay, not to mention the upheavel with roadworks as new treatment stations are built and brought into service, our three main beaches have no safe bathing blue flag awards this year.
When our water rates rise each year South west water always trot out the excuse of major investment in water cleanliness at our beaches. Well I have a message for South West Water: your investments are crap as is your water! Not only do we not have these flags, we have lost one we had last year.
Either someones job should cut or our bills should be.
I have lived here now for 23 years, I have only once been in the sea and that was to baptise some people from our church. I see the waters daily, I only live 200 yards from the beach, and whilst the beaches are certainly cleaner than they used to be, the water obviously isnt!!
That's terrible that you cannot access the water at your beach. I agree that soemone should be fired or at the very least, a refund in your taxes!!! Cheers
