Do you recall being encouraged to buy fruit and veg from 'third world' countries because it would help them with their economies and help lift them out of their poverty?
STOP IT - IT IS NO LONGER PC!! 
Having encouraged them to grow more and buy bigger fields and commit themselves to capital investment we must now dump them because every product carries a carbon footprint!!

Do you recall being told you must eat 5 fruit and veg a day all through the year? Well now you can only eat them if they have been grown locally. You will not be allowed to eat bananas every again. Ornages are out of the question, as are most nuts, mango, kiwi, olives and anything from abroad. Anything with a carbon footprint is OUT!!

Unless the product is grown within 30 miles the carbon footprint invalidates the organic advantages.

We have been receiving an organic fruit and veg box since a few weeks again now, and every week, there are fruit like kiwi, bananas, etc in there, which make me think the same thing. Fine that they are organic, but what good does it do if they need to be flown around half the world for me to enjoy them?
