YouTube
I was thinking about making some new vids to put on YouTube this afternoon. I have got a few in the making but it all went on hold with the move and I really ought to do something meangful
But seriously - I think probably all governments have people keeping an eye on YouTube, dissidents messages, anti-authoritarian stuff etc etc etc.. It is a fantastic opportunity to tell the government of the day, the police, the local authorities, the world how you feel about things. What you actually want to see in the community etc etc etc instead of what we are forcefed by the powers that be.
So we have this terrific vehicle and what do people use it for? Copying stuff off the TV, nicking tracks from music DVD's and doing stupid stunts.
You have a voice - use it and do something positive to change the world!!
In defence of my own videos - as if they needed defending. I have drawn attention to political issues. And this brings me to my next bugbear.
Do something original - In my videos I take a sound track and mix it with a video track (or two or three) and make something original.
Please stop churning out the crap and do something orginal - thank you.
Have had a stroke of luck.....
met a wealthy chappie who wants to sell his son's motor scooter for £150. It is worth about £600 so I have bought it. Not sure yet whether to sell it or use it but have to go and pick it up shortly ![]()
see you later
well I am here.....
havong got up early for the grand prix - should be a good one - its absolutely chucking it down with rain - doesnt really matter who's where on the starting grid - anything can happen - and will!!
Did you hear.......
about the girl who advertised in the local paper for a husband?
She got 200 replies from women offering theirs!!
How confusing.......
who am I?
I have just been going through a list of social/political organisations and their beliefs looking for as group to support and work for.
The problem is that I am an individual and think individually. I do not like the immigration policy of one group but I do support their views and policies on equality and social justice.
I can support an organisations regarding Corporate Accountability but cannot support their Socialist and Anti-Capitalist views.
is this one of the problems of getting older?
The purpose of all this is that I am trying to find something meaningful to do with my time stuck at home and use my wide skill base in support of!!
aaaaarrgghh
Up To 80% OFF
Each day I receive an email informing of best online deals. I have decided to pass the best of these on to my friends.
Here is the first.
I make nothing out of this by the way and rest assured I will make sure they are not scams and are real, genuine offers from real genuine businesses - a rare thing on the internet
you know your getting old.......
when you dont have to comb your hair... you just re-arrange it
News Round-Up
Blair invaded Iraq for humanitarian reasons allegedly, well that was his last excuse. Why hasnt instigated invasion of the US? The way they allow men women and children to suffer and die because they cannot afford health care is an international disgrace and should be addressed immediately by the international community.
Bush invaded Iraq for humanitarian reasons allegedly, well that was his last excuse. The suffering and situation in Burma is a genuine reason to get rid of a despotic government yet he does nothing but hot air - shame on him.
Vandals are to be sued to recoup the cost of clearing up the damage they cause, a local authority has said. They had to nick the spray cans - what makes the council think they can get anything by sueing them. They will just waste even more taxpayers money!!. Besides which I suspect most of them are under 16 anyway which means they can't be sued!!
well thats about it - the world is still a crazy place:
The periodic Christian Nudist Convocation took place in July at the Cherokee Lodge nudist camp in Tennessee, and according to a dispatch in Nashville Scene, the group evokes skepticism not only from most Christians (who dislike the flaunting of naked bodies, even if innocently done) but from most Cherokee Lodge members, who see them as too intense for naturism's laid-back attitude.
One CNC attendee acknowledged that many Christians would not approve of Cherokee Lodge, but to him "It's Jerusalem."
Another compared his work at nudist camps to missionary work: "Some people get sent to Africa, some people get sent to South America and the Lord was like, 'I want you to go to nudist resorts.' And I'm like, 'Wow, what an assignment.'"
Today is Saturday......

Security Itelligence Services in Crisis
There is a crisis within both MI5 and MI6 following the scandals on both sides of the Atlantic with dodgy dossiers and false, or as some believe, created, intelligence reports that gave support to George Bush's pursuit of Iraq, now admitted to protect its oil reserves that the US relies upon so heavily.
The current crisis is much worse than that of the 1960's created by the 'Ring of Five' (Blunt, Maclean, Philby, Blake and Hollis) and the exposure of the first four and suspicions about Hollis.
Today neither side of the Atlantic is trusting intelligence from the other and both are resorting to more mechanical/electronic forms of surveillance and covert operation. Physical protection measures are a priority because of the weaknesses in mechanical/electronic surveillance.
Whilst the US have tried to exert 'bully boy' tactics upon the UK Intelligence communities they have not succeeded, and the flow of intelligence between the two nations has all but dried up.
One of the difficulties created by this split of the two international communities is that, despite intense recruitment to MI5, the tensions and difficulties caused by fundamental Muslims, have depleted the Service of manpower. MI5 officers have been transferred to MI6 to cover gaps caused by the lack of trust of the US, MI5 officers and new recruits are concentrating on the Islamic communities, and traditional problems such as the Russian's activities on our soil, and our home grown dissidents, radicals and subversives are now largely ignored.
The problems this will cause will be manifest and immense in the near future.
There will also be a knock on effect with the number of long-term agents being recruited by MI5. Security lapses by these agents (generally unpaid 'spies' within an organisation) with a lack of experienced handlers means that they could expose themselves and suffer retribution.
It is time that both civil servants and politicians were forced to butt out of the work of the Intelligence Services and leave them alone, and independent, to do their work. The alternative is more fiascos, like the Iraq debacle, with decades of knock-on effects.
Thames Water....
have been fined £12.5 million!!
Guess who pays that?
Surely it would make more sense to 'fine' them by making them refund £12.5 million to customers?
Four old ladies......
Just been reading the local rag: Four old ladies were walking through the local park when a bloke flashed at them!
Two had strokes, the other two weren't fast enough!

Nothing - there are just some things a pig wont do!!
Why.......?
do fairy stories always start, 'once upona time....'?
They dont - sometimes they start "I had to work late...." or "bloody traffic...."
:D
Story about my missus......
I was going to tell you a story about when my missus was walking down the street and saw a young boy standing on a wall smoking a cigarette and drinking a can of beer. "This is disgraceful" she says to him "you should be in school". "Sod off" he replied, "I'm only four".
But I dont think I will bother. I'll wait till I got summat funny to say!!

my mate........
faffajane said something earlier in her blog that got me thinking.
I had to use the word 'oblong' the other day. It is a word I havent used for 30 years (dont ask why I had to use it now) andf it didnt sound or feel right. Was it actually a word? What on earth did it mean? I thought it was another name for a rectangle? But it sounds like the rectangle should have rounded corners!
Oblong
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Adjective
oblong
1. Describing something that is longer than it is wide.
2. Roughly rectangular or ellipsoidal.
(Adjective - elliptic
1. of, or related to, or shaped like an ellipse; egg-shaped, oval )
Oblong may refer to:
* A geometrical figure longer than wide, such as a non-square rectangle
* A term for leaf shape (Oblong (oblongus): Having an elongated form with slightly parallel sides)
Oblong (English)
Definition
(keystage 3)
Another word for rectangle. (Sometimes it is said that an oblong is a rectangle whose sides are different lengths; so a square is a special type of rectangle but it is not an oblong.)
Oblong is also a Village in the US sate of Illinois whose website features local government officials, community events calendar, services, parks and recreation, and contact details.

So, as my mate Gordon would say: what have we learned today. We have learned that an oblong may be a rectangle, with rounded sides or not, whose sides may or may not be equal subject to how equal they may or may not be.
Confused? Join the club!!
I still havent got the foggiest - but maybe its just me
I dont think......
I am gonna blog today - oops I am doing it
- dunno why - just dont feel up to it - see how I feel later
Burma Protest
It is disgraceful what is happening in Burma at the moment. Unarmed protesters being shot and killed. Monks being beaten and arrested. 200 arrested last night.
Am thinking I should go and lend my support to the protest tomorrow outside the Embassy in Charles Street London.
Two faced Jack Straw
Well hasnt the turncoat changed his colours yet again. He is going to make a speech (if he hasnt already) at the Labour conference saying that full protection should be given to those defending themselves against burglars etc..
Wasnt this the same Jack Straw that, when the tories made the same propsal, shot them down in flames?
The same Jack Straw that 4 times has refused a debate on the issue and when he was home secretary refused to entertain such thoughts. And today he says, he wished when he was Home Secretary he had been able to do something about the matter.
What is this chameleon saying?
That he is a spineless, weak, lily livered scumbag who doesnt really care about anything and will say whatever his puppeteers want him to say so long as the big bucks keep rolling into his bank account?
Pah!!
Tesco and Asda take note
Just got back from shopping at both the above mentioned stores. Not impressed. The local stores are the worst I have ever had shop at!!
Asda allowing 5-6 deep at checkouts!!!!
Tesco staff meandering around talking to friends and family blocking aisles, looking gormless and ignorant to the chaos they are causing.
Both Asda and Tesco fail to impress me - with home shopping collectors (or whatever they are called) barging round the store. Shelf fillers barging round the store with their big trolleys.
Taster booths blocking aisles on an already overcrowded store.
And both stores allowing women with screaming kids, foreign students who look as though they think they are lost at disneyland, wrinklies who move slower than a pregant snail fixed to the floor with superglue!!!
Stressed? Moi? What gives you that impression?
What a lovely morning.......
if a little chilly.
I wonder what trouble I can get into today
Got to go shopping later - Asda and Lidl
Missus seems bright today
Right well have a good day one and all

And for those of you who have to work.......
tough!!
Urgent info wanted
Down near Sailisbury Plain there is a village, it has been evacuated for some 50 years or more and is now used by the military for training.
Can anyone remember precisely where it is located or its original name please?
If I was a member......
or supporter of the Labour Party I think I would be very worried!
To have Tories defecting to Labour seems very worrying to me.
Whatever happened to 'for the people by the people'?
ouch......
Malaysian doctors have reattached a man's nearly severed penis after his first wife, enraged by his comparison of her sex skills with those of his younger second wife, decided to chop it off with a kitchen knife.
The man, a 43-year-old Indonesian worker in southern Johor state, was lying in bed with his 48-year-old wife talking about his newly wed second wife, who is in her 30s, when the incident happened, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.
Despite his shock and pain, the man managed to pull on his trousers and ride his motorcycle to a nearby hospital, where doctors had to put in 11 stitches to reattach the organ.
The man later complained to police, who arrested the woman and plan to charge her with voluntarily causing grievous hurt with (or should that be 'to') a dangerous weapon, which carries the penalty of a three-year jail term and a fine, the newspaper reported.

Just read Irish's post about 'gullible' women.
This really is the most amazing word - so widely used yet you wont find it in any dictionary!!
Top Secret - Dont tell anyone
There I was walking along enjoying nature and the rough terrain. I stumbled out of the clump of trees (I had been looking for wildlife to photograph) and this is what I saw:

Now what was very interesting was that it was confined within a compound surrounded by this:
not just razor wire (which doesnt look very old incidentally), not just barbed wire, but both!!!!! and a 12 foot fence!
Looking around a bit I was considering this was just a dilapidated old house but is it? Look at the back door - it isnt very old. The door is open because an armed guard with dog has just gone inside. So the building is inhabited and whilst the side I could see looks like it is all shut up I got the feeling the front was open and clean and tidy!
The next thing I noticed was this:
This was about ten feet in front of th
