and I am supposed to be doing something today but cant for the life of me remember what it is

I see the madness of the world continued over the weekend: £120 to pregnant women to help them eat fresh fruit & veg
Portugese ~~lunatics~~ police allowed McCanns to leave the country only to say 24 hours later they should be charged soon
Escaping convicts are to be issued with yellow jackets to protect their human rights - so they are not embarrassed by prison uniform
new english test could reduce immigration by 35,000 - and increase illegals by the same number
fat cat salaries have forced the cost of the London Olympics to spiral out of control only 12 months or so after project was started

Oh well- lets have a bacon butty

Is it me, or is society getting dumber and dumber?

I've got that sort of news here, on this side of the pond---a man died in a house fire, because the new Federal Communications Commission regulations have changed the wattage towns can use to send out emergency calls to responders--in this case, from 300 watts to 100 watts, so, one of our rural towns has a mountain the low wattage can't penetrate, so volunteer firemen couldn't hear the dispatcher tell them where the fire was, and an elderly man burned to death. But hey, the FCC is helping to keep us safe from those mean ol' terrorists...

Oh, and former secretary of defense Don Rumsfeld says Afghanistan is a big success, and that the US military can never lose a war---if they do lose a battle or war, it's all the coalition forces fault. Yup dummy Rummy said that. DOH.
